Paper & Thread is a hidden gem located on Columbia Ave, just off the downtown Lawrenceburg square. Owner, Stephanie Evers and her husband, Ryan, are both Lawrenceburg natives, having been born and raised in this beautiful community. Stephanie, who worked as a social worker for over 15 years, decided to take a leap of faith to pursue a lifelong dream of owning and operating her very own local, downtown business.
“When I told my husband my plan, I was unsure as to what I wanted to sell. I thought about what I love in life, and what types of shops I like to visit when we travel to other towns. That is when Paper & Thread was born. When I think about things that make me smile and happy, I think of fresh stationary, pretty notebooks, and fun, unique gift items. So that is exactly what Paper & Thread became.”
Paper & Thread offers a wide variety of gift options, gift wrapping, and specializes in gift baskets. Stephanie has a creative way of mixing food items, stationary, and other unique gift items to make a one of a kind gift for any occasion. A few of the brands carried in Paper & Thread include Erin Condron, Cotton Clara, eeBoo, Plus Plus, Picasso Tiles, Stonewall Kitchen, Hammond’s Chocolates and TomBow.
Paper & Thread also offers several exciting arts and craft classes to the community. “Part of my business plan was to have events, classes, pop-up shops, etc to give the community a chance to showcase the talent that abounds in our community and to give others an opportunity to see and participate, while learning something new and fun! Growing up in Lawrenceburg, I heard there’s just not much to do, and that is simply not the case. Our community is growing both in number and talent daily, and these events and classes give me an opportunity to help with that growth. I love arts and crafts and want to share my love and passion with others.” Paper & Thread classes for 2023 include watercolor painting, Cross Stitching, Embroidery, Punch Needle, Weaving, Pottery, and more!
Paper & Thread is located at 105A N Columbia Ave, Lawrenceburg, TN. Store hours are Tuesday -Friday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Closed on Sunday and Monday.
