Family Experiences

Wake up your child’s sense of wonder. It’s easy to do here.

Lawrenceburg will keep your children on the move. Watch wildlife from a wooded trail. Step back in time into a one-of-a-kind museum housing an 1800’s jail. Visit America’s original hippie commune to buy tie-died shirts even your kids will think are cool. Go bowling. Visit a dog park. Catch a flick. Learn how to throw an axe- nothing boring about that! Lawrenceburg is a great place to enjoy family time, from culture and shopping to great food and friendly new faces.

About

The Loretto History Museum in downtown Loretto showcases vintage telecommunication equipment and a wide range of other items that represent how life was lived in this small town.

Visitors say the museum is like a time capsule that includes newspapers, magazines, books, vintage toys, tools, medical equipment, telephone switchboards, and church vestments from this community that was founded by a Catholic priest.

The museum frequently hosts community events and educational tours. It also features a soda fountain that is a popular hangout for visitors and locals. Open by appointment only – Call (931) 853-5117
